Students will:
Understand that the foundation of Catholic Social Teaching is the belief that each human being has an inherent dignity because we have all been created in the image of God.
Read “We are born Free” Amnesty International 2008 - Universal Declaration of Human Rights in pictures.
Activities:
- What does the word dignity mean? Create a word art or design a poster that you can display in your home for your family to see using synonyms of the word ‘dignity’.
- Explore this Caritas site that explains the 7 Principles of Catholic Social Teaching focusing in particular on Dignity of the Human Person
- Watch the clip from Caritas on the Dignity of the human person
- Journal, video or written reflection: Do I respect the dignity and worth of others? Do I uphold their right to feel loved and safe?
